Ingredients

  • 20–24 thin slices turkey salami
  • 20–24 small slices or wedges of mild white cheese
  • 20–24 thin strips of cheddar cheese
  • 3–4 large mozzarella slices for the center flowers
  • 1 cup mixed green and black olives
  • 1 large handful fresh basil leaves
  • 1 bunch fresh chives
  • 2–3 slices turkey ham, for the decorative bow
  • 1 small round white serving platter

Cooking Instructions

  1. 01

Arrange the turkey salami slices around the outer edge of the platter, slightly overlapping each slice to create a full circular flower border.

  2. 02

Cut the white cheese into elongated wedges or rectangles and place them in a second circle, pointing outward like flower petals.

  3. 03

Place a small strip of cheddar on top of each cheese piece.

  4. 04

Add long chive stems between the cheese petals, extending outward to emphasize the flower design.

  5. 05

For the center, gently fold mozzarella slices into loose calla-lily shapes and arrange three together like flowers.

  6. 06

Roll several slices of turkey salami tightly into salami roses, then place two large roses in the middle of the platter.

  7. 07

Scatter fresh basil leaves around the roses to create the appearance of flower leaves.

  8. 08

Fill the lower center with a mixture of green and black olives.

  9. 09

Fold thin slices of turkey ham into a small decorative bow and place it between the salami roses.

  10. 10

Finish by adjusting the chives and basil so the entire platter has a balanced, symmetrical floral appearance.

  11. 11

Refrigerate until serving and allow the platter to sit at room temperature for about 10u201315 minutes before serving.

Chef notes

- Choose thin, flexible slices of salami and cheese so they’re easy to fold and shape into beautiful petals. - Create the center flower first, rolling the meat tightly and layering additional slices around it for a fuller bloom. - Keep the flower petals evenly spaced to achieve a clean, symmetrical presentation. - Mix colors and textures—pair creamy cheeses, cured meats, olives, and fresh greens for an eye-catching platter. - Chill the finished platter for 15–20 minutes before serving to help the flowers maintain their shape and keep everything fresh.
