Equipment

  • Glass kettle or saucepan (to warm the water to 80°C / 176°F)
  • Ceramic bowl or matcha bowl (for whisking the matcha)
  • Bamboo whisk (chasen) or milk frother (to blend matcha smoothly)
  • Teaspoon (for measuring matcha and salt)
  • Citrus juicer or fork (to squeeze the lemon)
  • Stirring spoon
  • Serving cup (preferably ceramic or heatproof glass)

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp organic Japanese matcha powder
  • ½ lemon, freshly juiced
  • 1 cup warm filtered water (not boiling, approx. 80°C / 176°F)
  • Pinch of Himalayan or sea salt
  • Optional: ½ tsp apple cider vinegar (for added metabolism support)

Instructions

Step 1: Warm the Water

  • Gently heat filtered water to around 80°C (176°F). Do not boil — too much heat destroys matcha’s nutrients.

Step 2: Whisk the Matcha

  • Add matcha powder to a bowl. Pour in a small amount of the warm water. Whisk using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or a milk frother until smooth and foamy.

Step 3: Add Lemon and Salt

  • Add the fresh lemon juice and a pinch of salt to the whisked matcha. Stir gently to blend the flavors.

Step 4: Finish and Drink Warm

  • Top with the rest of the warm water. Stir again and sip slowly on an empty stomach for best results.

Notes

  • Use ceremonial-grade matcha for the best flavor and health benefits.
  • You can substitute sea salt with pink Himalayan salt for additional minerals.
  • Do not add sweeteners if following a strict detox protocol.
