Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Skillet or grill pan
  • Spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Optional: Air fryer

Ingredients

For the Burger Patties:

  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean preferred)
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons red onion, minced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Optional Toppings:

  • Tzatziki or hummus
  • Sliced cucumber
  • Red onion rings
  • Lettuce or arugula
  • Toasted buns or pita bread
  • Kalamata olives (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Turkey Mixture

  • In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, feta, sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Gently mix with your hands or a fork—do not overmix.

Step 2: Shape the Patties

  • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about 3/4-inch thick. Press a small indentation in the center of each patty. Chill in the fridge for 10–15 minutes to help them hold shape.

Step 3: Cook the Burgers

  • Grill: Preheat grill to medium. Oil the grates. Cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Stovetop: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side.
Air Fryer: Preheat to 375°F. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Step 4: Assemble and Serve

  • Place patties on toasted buns. Add toppings like tzatziki, lettuce, cucumber, and onion. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For added moisture, stir in a teaspoon of Greek yogurt into the turkey mixture.
  • These patties freeze well—shape and freeze raw between parchment sheets.
  • Always cook turkey to an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.
  • You can swap out the feta for dairy-free cheese for a lactose-free option.
